Biographical entry Neighbour, G.H.
G. Neighbour, KC, was an original Wallaby Club member joining in 1894 but left the club later that same year. He was an acting Judge of County Court. In 1872, he founded and was then Headmaster of Carlton College (later Essendon Grammar School) until 1876. He was a Captain in the Victorian Militia and assisted with the design of military fortifications at Queenscliff and Point Nepean.

The Wallaby Club is a Melbourne-based walking club established in 1894 with a strong bias towards good fellowship, talking and an appreciation of both the natural and built environments. Membership is strictly limited and is by invitation only.
