Summary

A. Sutherland joined the Wallaby Club in 1902 but sadly died the same year. He was an author, journalist, port and teacher. His career appointments included Headmaster of Carlton College 1877-1892, after G.H. Neighbour, and Register of the University of Melbourne 1901-1902. His books included a history of Australia which became a standard text for schools for many years.
