Biographical entry Garran, Robert
Sir Robert Garran joined the Wallaby Club in 1905 and maintained his membership until 1930 [did he move to Canberra at this point?]. He was President in 1909. He was Head of the Federal Attorney General's Department for 31 years, a parliamentary draftsman and was known as the father of the Australian National University, Canberra. He was also their first graduate when he was awarded an LLB Hon. He drafted the Wallaby Club constitution and was the father of Dr R.R. Garran.

The Wallaby Club is a Melbourne-based walking club established in 1894 with a strong bias towards good fellowship, talking and an appreciation of both the natural and built environments. Membership is strictly limited and is by invitation only.
