Biographical entry Southby, Richard McK. F.
Professor Richard Southby joined the Wallaby Club in 1965. He was an active member of the club until he moved to Washington DC in 1979 to marry Janet Rexrode PhD. Richard has been a faculty member at The George Washington University, where he was Dean of the School of Public Health and Health Services and then Executive Dean in the Medical Centre. He is now Distinguished Professor of Global Health and Executive Dean Emeritus. Richard maintains strong links with Australia as a Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University and an Honorary Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at The University of Sydney.
His career positions include:
* Executive Dean and Distinguished Professor of Global Health at The George Washington University, Washington, DC, USA;
* formerly Dean and Walter G Ross Professor of International Health, School of Public Health and Health Services, The George Washington University Medical Centre, Washington DC; and
* Honorary Professor, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University, Australia.

A Private Club
The Wallaby Club is a Melbourne-based walking club established in 1894 with a strong bias towards good fellowship, talking and an appreciation of both the natural and built environments. Membership is strictly limited and is by invitation only.
