Doug Hutchison joined the Wallaby Club in 1980. He was elected President in 1991 and was Walks Secretary 1987-1989. He trained as an electrical engineer and spent 15 years working overseas after graduation - 12 years in Scotland including the Highlands and Orkney and 3 years in Malaya. After returning to Australia, he worked with John Holland as Chief Electrical Engineer until his retirement. He developed a database that registered all the walks undertaken in the history of the Club. The data from that register was incorporated into a more extensive database which was commenced in 2007. He is a son of H.S. Hutchison and a nephew of K.T. Towl.

A Private Club
The Wallaby Club is a Melbourne-based walking club established in 1894 with a strong bias towards good fellowship, talking and an appreciation of both the natural and built environments. Membership is strictly limited and is by invitation only.
