- ophthalmologist and surgeon
Dr Geoff Serpell joined the Wallaby Club in 1986. Geoff was the inspiration behind and the author of "Wallabys of Yore" Vol.1 (2007).He trained as an ophthalmologist and was an Honorary Consultant Ophthalmologist at Prince Henry's Hospital and the Monash Medical Centre. He has also had an interest in medical history. Other appointments included being the Foundation Director of the Glaucoma Research Unit in 1957 - the first special unit formed at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. He is the father of A.J. Serpell.

A Private Club
The Wallaby Club is a Melbourne-based walking club established in 1894 with a strong bias towards good fellowship, talking and an appreciation of both the natural and built environments. Membership is strictly limited and is by invitation only.
