- archaeologist and educationist
Professor Ian Edwards joined the Wallaby Club in 1994. He was elected President in 2006. He trained in archaeology and held the position of Adjunct Professor in the Archaeology Research Unit in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Deakin University. He had previously lectured in tertiary education for 29 years. He was involved in Middle Eastern archaeology from 1974 in Jordon, the Egyptian Sahara and North Syria.

The Wallaby Club is a Melbourne-based walking club established in 1894 with a strong bias towards good fellowship, talking and an appreciation of both the natural and built environments. Membership is strictly limited and is by invitation only.
