Dr Arthur Schwieger joined the Wallaby Club in 1996 and remained a member until his death in 2010. He trained as a neurologist and was the first Neurologist at Prince Henry's Hospital 1953-1982, and was a Consultant Neurologist at the Repatriation Department and the Department of Mental Hygiene. He served as a Medical officer in the Royal Australian Air Force in World War II.

The Wallaby Club is a Melbourne-based walking club established in 1894 with a strong bias towards good fellowship, talking and an appreciation of both the natural and built environments. Membership is strictly limited and is by invitation only.
