Biographical entry Chapman, James G.
Jim Chapman joined the Wallaby Club in 1998. He was elected to the Wallaby Committee in 2004. He trained in microbiology and was a Senior Lecturer in Microbiology at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and the University of Melbourne. He assisted in setting up the first diagnostic virology laboratory in the British Army in 1953. He also became a Deacon of The Uniting Church.

The Wallaby Club is a Melbourne-based walking club established in 1894 with a strong bias towards good fellowship, talking and an appreciation of both the natural and built environments. Membership is strictly limited and is by invitation only.
