Biographical entry Gillin, L. Murray
- academic, engineer and university administrator
Emeritus Professor Murray Gillin joined the Wallaby Club in 2000. He was elected Walks Secretary in 2005, Vice President in 2009 and President 2010. He trained as a materials engineer and spent 25 years with the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) including 3 years (1971-1974) as Research and Development Attaché at the Australian Embassy in Washington, USA. After joining Swinburne University of Technology in 1979 he held positions of Pro Vice Chancellor, Dean of Engineering and was President IEAust in 1992. As Director, Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship, he founded the AGSE International Entrepreneurship Research Conference, the AGSE Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame and Richard Pratt Entrepreneurship Oration. He is founder and chair of Ausentrepreneurs Sans Frontieres and is Chairman of Integrated Innovation Management Pty Ltd.

The Wallaby Club is a Melbourne-based walking club established in 1894 with a strong bias towards good fellowship, talking and an appreciation of both the natural and built environments. Membership is strictly limited and is by invitation only.
