Biographical entry Chodziesner, W. Ben
Ben Chodziesner joined the Wallaby Club in 2004. With a BE in chemical engineering from University of Sydney (1956) his career started in the oil industry with BP in the UK and then into petrochemicals mainly with Exxon-associated companies in Australia and Hong Kong, From an assignment in Singapore as regional director for a global Exxon/Monsanto joint venture in thermoplastic elastomers he retired to become primary carer for his late wife. He became involved in advocacy on behalf of family carers, serving as president of Carers Australia (2005-2007) and Carers Victoria (2004-2010).

The Wallaby Club is a Melbourne-based walking club established in 1894 with a strong bias towards good fellowship, talking and an appreciation of both the natural and built environments. Membership is strictly limited and is by invitation only.
