Summary

Dr Alan French joined the Wallaby Club in 2011. He received a PhD in Chemistry from the University of London and had a career in the chemical, oil, mineral and pharmaceutical industries. He was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Royal Australian Chemical Institute where he became a Board Member and active committee member. Following various roles at ICI Australia, ranging from R & D to occupational health, Alan developed an on-line chemical management system for BHP; Health Safety & Environment Manager for CSL; Health Manager for WMC and State Manager for the RACI in Victoria. He won the TG Crane Award for Safety in the Chemical Industry (1985) and the RACI-ICI Challenge for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Excellence (1989).
