- materials scientist, physicist and visual ergonomics consultant
Dr Steve Jenkins joined the Wallaby Club in 2011. He graduated B.Sc. (Hons Physics) (1967) from Imperial College, London University and MSc. (1977) and Ph.D (1980) from Melbourne University. In Australia he has worked for the Department of Defence in the Applied Optics group of Materials Research Laboratories developing the Australian Army camouflage uniform. He then moved to the Australian Road Research board in the Road Users group working in the area of the visibility of signs, markings and road lighting. He now has his own NATA accredited laboratory in the field of optics and radiometry and also works as a consultant in the field of visual ergonomics. He is president of CIE Australia and a Foundation member of the Metrology Society of Australia.

A Private Club
The Wallaby Club is a Melbourne-based walking club established in 1894 with a strong bias towards good fellowship, talking and an appreciation of both the natural and built environments. Membership is strictly limited and is by invitation only.
